Splinter Readings and Music at Avenue 50 in Los Angeles

flyer3The Splinter Generation is excited to invite you to our latest event celebrating the newest metamorphosis of our site from one-time collection to ongoing live journal. Since the summer we have been working hard to bring you new and exciting literary and visual material that represents our generation, and now it’s time to step away from the computer screens and meet together in one place to enjoy stories, poetry, music, and cheap hooch.

We will be treated to readings by Lisbeth Prifogle and Eric Shonkwiler, both of who represent some of the most compelling nonfiction and fiction published on the site, poetry from poetry editor Scott Miller, and a reading by Kate Durbin, an exciting young poet who recently came out with her first full book of poetry, The Ravenous Audience (Black Coat), edited by Chris Abani.

To keep us rockin’ and rollin’ through the night we will also be treated to a musical set from Lysa Flores, and Jose Galvan (indie 103.1) will be setting the groove with his musical picks.

Special thanks to Mr. Popper for the awesome flyer design.

Come help us celebrate!

About The Splinter Generation

The Splinter Generation is a place by and for people born between 1973 and 1993. It's a venue for writers, artists and musicians from all different backgrounds to tell the story of our generation. More on us here.

Meet at the Gate, the web site of Canongate Publishing House, has this to say, "This is how we discover that the youth of today is not all shoot-'em-up gun- (or knife-) totin' hooligans. It’s great to see that there are a huge number of young adults who are seeking each other out - complete strangers - to try and establish an understanding with one another to create a more emotionally- and creatively-connected world."
